As promised, a nice video for you all.
This is Nouvelle Vague's video for their version of 'Dance With Me'. Beautiful song, and the way it's fits to the clip from the old film 'Bande A Part' is brilliant.
This band is perfect when you need nice sounds to relax to. And this actual song is so sexy! If any girl sang this to me I'd be hers lol.
As this is a cover (Nouvelle Vague basically redo dodgy 80's new wave music, hence the name), I've also got the video for the original by Lords Of The New Church.
Doing the late shift last night. When I stopped to pass on to the next driver a lad came up asking about a service station stop, as he'd cut his knee and wanted to sort it out.
Well the cut was a huge gash that would need stitches, looking at it! He did it on an escalator in London, or something. He was so nonchalant abou the whole thing, as if he'd grazed it or something! I wouldn't be so cool if it were me.
Nevertheless, he didn't want an ambulance no to go to hospital, he just wanted to get to Dundee (as cutting his journey partway would leave him stranded). Fair enough, it's his choice. Just bandaged it up well and gave him a few bits from the first aid kit to keep him going.
Just hope it as all OK by the time he got to Dundee (some 10 hours after leaving London!).
Traffic was a nightmare again yesterday evening. As it was the day before. Yeah thursday I planned to go the 'quick way' through Notting Hill and up the M40. Cutting out any M1 traffic. Although the road was closed towards Holland Park so had to do a 3 point turn in a coach on the A402. Thanks to the Nat Ex driver for letting me know it was bad up ahead. So ended up going up the M1. M1 was at a standstill so used our common workaround, the A405-M10. Went great. Until I got halfway up the M10. Standstill. Fir ages. An hour late in the end! Ah well.

Rails:
One of the wires came off my Pendolino dummy car today, unlucky. Had to open it up, release the bogey, unhook the innards, strip the wire and wrap it round the contact to the wheels. As I can't resolder it without a soldering iron. Guess it'll hold until I do. It only powers that car's lights, as the motor is in the other end.
Although I could just replace the dummy car with another power car, for an extra boost!
Had a look at my old HST Intercity train early (by old I must have got it maybe 15 years ago, probably more). I t does work, cleaned what I can and running quite well. A bit flickery at times, needs the odd tap every now and then to keep it going. I'll get it sorted I hope. Think the old steel track is worthless now though so not using that.
Good to see that I can use the old train on the digital layout.

Other stuff:
Had a nice chinese takeaway tonight. Curried chicken and prawn crackers.
A night off, and I forgot to get beer. Never mind eh. Coke will have to do.
Finally got around to picking up a Costa prepaid card. Annoying that I went to register it earlier and the Costa website was down. I'll try it again soon.
Not posted any videos lately. I'll do one tomorrow. I have one in mind, a nice song.
Been doing a bit of work on my Myspace page recently, just to brighten it up. Looking better now.
And finally a big sarcarrrrrstic thankyou to the owner of the white sporty Peugeot 205 outside next doors house. The alarm went off 3 times the other night for no reason!
Started my rail work today. Well not quite, the day was spent making a nice big area. Then I laid down an old green bedsheet I found on the floor and built a makeshift tunnel.
Need to get a board set up and landscape it properly. need more points first to get a track layout set up, then I can start.
This is the set I chose to start up with, the Virgin Pendolino, commonly seen. I'll add a few more different types once I have the infrastructure ready. Good choice I think, very detailed, with lights and it even tilts on the bends.
Peeking out of the tunnel ready to hit the straight:
Progressing along the straight, lights shining on the rails:
Heading outwards round a bend:
A nice-but-nothing-special blurred-motion shot:
I also dug out a couple of old sets from when I was young, obviously theyre now a but tatty. Some bits of track broken etc. My intercity HST sort of goes, I gave the cogs a good clean and checked the wires but not much better. Might just get a new one. I could make this one tattier and use it in the scenery somewhere, 'old train left to rot in a siding' or something.
The freight train that's there goes well, but it's not digital so probably not worth bothering with. Although the wagons might be useful.
I think on my 'wanted' list things include Eurostar, a local Central Trains one, the Pullman, Hogwart's Express and a freight one of some kind.
And of course I have to build a station of some sort, I think I'll enjoy the creativity.
1: At the starting line in Greenwich Park, stay near the back. Be inconspicuous.
2: At Prince Of wales round, turn right (be sly when you hop the fence).
3: Keep going. Enter Blackheath station.
4: Jump on a South Eastern train and get off at London Bridge.
5: Dive down onto the Victoria Line and pop out at Westminster.
6: Most runners will be miles behind (assuming the tube isn't delayed). Hide in a doorway until the first runners some down the Embankment.
7: When they do, hop the fence again (nobobdy will be paying attention as they're watching the main lot) and run the last stretch through St James' Park.
8: break the ribbon, wave at the cameras and have a wee.
Had a nice weekend off. Nice weather too. Didn't do much though. Obviously.
Back at work this morning, the new coaches are getting easier to handle, will take a few weeks to get a true feel of them. Late shift tomorrow. I like lates better than earlies.
Decided to start a model railway again, I was very young last time I did it so now I can do a proper job. With a proper layout and buildings (as a kid books made stations and ramps and things. Gets me off the computer too, I spend far too much time online. Besides, the internet isn't as active as it was last year. Not even a patch. Everyone must be busy or elsewhere I suppose. Not much chatting and blogging going on, people tend to have other things to do instead, so guess I need something. Plus it'll be fun to have a go at modelling, making scale buildings, stuff like that. I need something to do, to keep me occupied. And also relive some stress, I thing it'll be ideal. Energy going into the creation. Peace and relaxation from it's operation. The longer it can keep me sane, the better. I think.
Finally watched Mona Lisa Smile last night. Got the DVD ages ago at a service station, well it's got a great cast. I was very impressed with the film. Although I wasn't sure that the whole big tub of Baileys flavour Haagen Dazs was a good idea, but hey, nobody to share with what else can I do?
St Georges Day today. Another waste of time. What's the point of being English if we can't celebrate it? Oh yeah our identity has gone. Trying to work out whether we're now part of America or the Eastern Bloc. Poland is empty now, I should move there. At least there I can afford to live. (This ruined country really gets to me).
Sorry this post isn't really structured, I'm tired and bored and can't really be bothered with it tonight! In a bit of a sensitive mood I guess. Ranted a bit, I'll probably come back and edit it sometime. Didn't really feel like blogging but some of us have to do it. Before the whole blogging community falls down into doing once-a-month entries at best! I try and do it daily, don't like leaving a gap of more than 2 days if possible.
Hope everyone is well. Especially those that are about and not too busy! (Wants to turn back the clocks...).
